Problem summary
When a Logik fridge freezer stops cooling and freezing altogether, the fault lies in one of the core refrigeration systems. This is not a thermostat adjustment or simple setting issue – the appliance has lost its ability to produce cold air across both chambers.
Likely causes
Based on repair records for this fault pattern, the most common causes are:
Compressor failure
The compressor pumps refrigerant through the sealed system. If it stops working or runs inefficiently, neither the fridge nor freezer section will cool. Compressor faults can be electrical (motor failure) or mechanical (worn pump).
Evaporator blockage or failure
The evaporator coil in the freezer section absorbs heat from the appliance. If it ices over, leaks, or fails electrically, cold air cannot circulate. A blocked evaporator may result from a frozen drain tube or refrigerant leak.
Fan malfunction
Fans distribute cold air from the freezer section to the fridge compartment. If the circulation fan fails, the fridge receives little or no cold air even if the freezer is producing it.
Control board fault
The PCB (printed circuit board) controls compressor and fan operation. A failed board will prevent the system from starting or running correctly.
Sealed-system leak
If refrigerant has escaped through a crack or failed seal, the system cannot maintain pressure and will not cool. This requires specialist detection and re-sealing equipment.
